Mother's Day: A Color

I saw this question over at Design It Chic and thought I would share it here.  I would love to hear your response to this question.  But I also encourage you to head on over to Design It Chic's blog, join her blog hop and answer her question there.
The question, yes I guess I should share it huh?
If you were to describe Mother's Day using a color, what would that be?

I answered this question in her comments, but wanted to share the answer here too.  If you haven't guessed, I would describe Mother's Day as yellow.  Mother's Day makes me think of the brightness of spring and the bright light that we should be in our family's life.  Spring brings an abundance of flowers.  But the flower that stuck firmly in my mind was the daffodil with its bright yellow.  And finally, I think of the dandelions that my precious children bring to me out of their love for me and it moves me greatly to think of their innocent, beautiful love.

What about you?  What color is Mother's Day for you?  Just leave a comment so we can all see your answer.

Blessings and Happy Mother's Day!

Proverbs 31:10-31   Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.  The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.  She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.  She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant. Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.  Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman thatfeareth the LORD, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

  1. Pink is the color I think of for Mothers' Day, soft feminine and sometimes just a shade lighter than red, a very strong color!

  2. I think Mother's Day reminds me of shades of yellow with pale yellow being the not so bright spots with my relationship with my mother and bright yellow being the really good times with my mom. Thanks for sharing on NOBH! :) God bless and Happy Mother's Day to you!

  3. Red for Mother's Day, but my mom's favorite color is red and her mom was fond of red carnations. :) (New follower from Follow Me Friday)
