Toddler Ideas Tuesday: June 17, 2014

Welcome back to Toddler Idea Tuesdays!

Have you been busy with your young children?

We continue to do crafts to go along with our My Father's World units.  I have plans on starting Letter of the Week back up at the beginning of the school year for Harold and Hannah, but for now, they are just sorta tagging along. I haven't been putting together much else for Harold specifically. I think he would spend all day playing with his Mega Bloks if I allowed him to though.

Last week our science topic was "Seasons," so they all worked on a "The Four Seasons of a Tree" book. Here are Harold's tree pictures which I will be making into a book.

I found a picture of a bare tree that I liked online and used it for each season, then they colored the tree trunk and branches brown.

Spring:

In the spring they were to rip green construction paper into small pieces for buds on the tree. This is about the extent to which Harold could tear.

Summer:

In the summer they glued on green tree tops. They were also supposed to color the grass green. They could have added flowers if they so wished, Harold wasn't interested though.

Fall:

Fall was probably the favorite season, as they got to paint. They were to use red and yellow and make some splotches on top of the orange tree top.

Winter:

For winter we added cotton ball snow drifts and 3 circles for a snowman. Harold's snowman ended up in the tree for some reason.

Now onto:

Toddler Idea Tuesday Features

1- Brandi from Fairy Tale Glamorous share her post, "Tot School Planning." Stop by to see her plans for starting Tot School with your toddler and while you are there, don't forget your FREE copy of her Tot School Planner.

2- Brandi also shared her post on their first week of Tot School, featuring the letter A. Again she is sharing some FREE printables. Stop by and check out her Do-a-Dot pages for the letter Aa.

3- Joanna from Clark and Luci Learn shared her post, "Five in a Row, Volume 2: The Tale of Peter Rabbit."  At one point we tried using Five in a Row, at that time it wasn't for us. But after seeing the fun things some moms are doing with FIAR I am thinking of trying it again. However, you don't have to be using Five in a Row do benefit from Joanna's ideas to go with The Tale of Peter Rabbit.

I would love to have you join in this week! What sort of activities do you do with your toddler? Do you have some favorite activities you would like to share? I invite you to link up below. I will be pinning posts on my Toddler Ideas board and I would love to feature some of the activities each week from what is linked up. Please know I may share a picture from your post and link back to it, along with sharing how we used your idea in our toddler time. By linking up you are giving me permission to use a picture from your post. I will ALWAYS give credit and link back. Additionally, if you choose to try out any of the ideas with your toddler, please make sure you give credit where credit is due.

Linky will be open through Sunday night, to give me time to check out all the posts and get the Features organized.
